Villa Laviosa verdankt ihren Namen der Paläethologin und Archäologin Pia Virginia Laviosa Zambotti. Die Wissenschaftlerin verwirklichte die Anlage, die sie als Sommersitz auswählte. Nach einer Umstrukturierung dient das Haus heute als Sitz der Schnapsbrennerei "Villa Laviosa". Die stärke des Hauses liegt in der Herstellung von Grappe und Likören, die ausschließlich aus erlesenen Rebsorten und anderen Primärprodukten erzeugt werden.
